Each track of the step sequencer has fifteen parameters per instrument that can be automated plus full automation of all the insert effects parameters for that instrument.

Each of these parameters can be automated in the software or controlled via the assignable encoders on the controller. The software mixer provides a familiar interface for controlling the level, pan, insert effects and sends of instruments. The divide and move functions allow for setting the size and position of the loop within a pattern, and shifting these in real-time helps create new and interesting beats. Three assignable encoders work with the currently selected sound, controlling functions like pitch, instrument filter cutoff and resonance, insert effect parameters, as well as the other synthesis parameters in each engine. An advanced Looper acts on the pattern position itself, and allows repeating sections of a pattern at the press of a button. The Slicer provides beat slicing, reverse playback, deep Tape drop effects, Strobe, beat sync pans, bit crushers, and more. A global filter allows for processing an entire mix through an 8-mode filter.
The touch-sensitive XY Pad offers real-time performance effects for transforming beats.

Or rhythms can be recorded in real-time using the two banks of eight velocity and pressure sensitive backlit pads, either quantized or free form. Patterns can have up to sixty-four steps. Sixteen sequencer buttons allow for quick sequencing while acting as a visual reference. The package integrates classic "TR"-style step sequencing with real-time beat making. It takes the best elements from a wide variety of vintage analog drum machines, sample based beat boxes and physical modeling, and delivers a modern beat station with synthesis and expressive control. I know alot of people are sleeping on this right now, but I think this product is a no brainer for a many.SparkLE is a hybrid instrument from Arturia that combines the sounds, work flow and creative tools of the Spark Engine software with a hardware controller.
I primarily work on hip hop, house, and dance, which the kits have all the offerings you could hope for in this area. The spark is pretty ugly (Sorry Arturia) functional yes, but def losses style points in my book.īuttons - I feel they cheaped out on them a little, overall build quality is good, but they should have finished the job by improving these.įeatures - I want to be able to do more in spark itself, and that's not a strike against them, I just like it so much I want to complete more just using it - This is on the horizon however, the forums are buzzing about vst support, piano roll, etc, etc. Well that's hard to say, I did a ton of research before I bought it and demoed the software, so I pretty much got exactly what I thought I would be getting, for the most part. Mixer / Fx - The on board fx are great and are all that I need for my drums. Tweaking - If you want to have in depth control over your sound w/o hassle, don't think you can do better than this.Ĭhaining / song mode - laying down your drums with transitional parts and getting the song structure together. Speed of use - it's just to easy to get around fast on this thing - very well laid out. I almost bought it just because arturia put it out Starving student wrote:what do you think sparks forte is and btw what style of music are you making with it, finally I know you mentioned updates but what is it that you don't like about it?
